AI in healthcare has moved from promise to proof of concept — and now the hard work begins. Across health plans, health systems, and life sciences, organizations are running pilots, building roadmaps, and asking a harder question: how do we turn this into something that actually moves the needle at enterprise scale?
Optura was built to answer that question.
Optura is a full-stack AI operating system purpose-built for healthcare enterprises — health plans, health systems, pharmacies, and life sciences. Where most AI tools sell a workflow, Optura sells a system for running AI itself. The Optura platform maps fragmented enterprise data into a structured knowledge layer that agents can reason over, assembles those agents from reusable components tailored to each organization’s workflows, and then — critically — measures the realized ROI of every initiative in real time. The company calls this “Return on AI Investment,” or ROAI, and it’s the organizing principle of the entire platform. In a market flooded with AI products that can’t prove they work, Optura is building the system of record for proving that they do.
Andy Fanning and Michael Hollis founded Optura. The duo have spent their careers managing the problems they’re now trying to solve. Andy was most recently VP of AI & Automation at Cigna, where the CFO endorsed him for driving over $500M in realized value back to the enterprise. Before that Andy led Gen AI globally at Evernorth. He’s built his career on translating AI ambition into hard-dollar outcomes inside some of the most complex payor organizations in the country. Michael spent nearly two decades at Emids, most recently as President and Chief Growth Officer, where he helped build one of the leading digital transformation services firms in healthcare and developed valuable C-suite relationships across payors, providers, and life sciences.
Optura is building the connective tissue that healthcare has been waiting for — the layer that turns AI from a portfolio of disconnected pilots into a measurable, governable, enterprise-scale program. We’re proud to back Andy, Michael, and the entire Optura team as they end AI paralysis in healthcare and give the industry what it has been asking for all along: AI that demonstrably works.
